Single Review: Jai Paul – Jasmine
Jai Paul, you illusive devil
Jai Paul, you illusive devil. After almost two years of silence since his first, and only magnificent track, 'BTSTU', the London based producer has come up with another gem of a track, released to the interweb last night.
'Jasmine' retains the muffled vocals of its predecessor, but fills in gaps that apparently 'BTSTU' lacked. The ominous bass of the first 25 seconds gives way to a lulling riff that grows and swells under what will no doubt become trademark choppy lyrics, matched with a funky guitar synth thing that goes on throughout. 'Jasmine' is addictive, a little bit mid 80s and a repeat listener, just as 'BTSTU' was. Track number two could have gone either way for Jai Paul, with nothing but one stand out out song to his back catalogue. Jasmine does not disappoint, and places Monsieur P at the forefront of what will no doubt be exceptional in the coming months.
