Fresh from their recent sell-out performances of Trial By Jury and HMS Pinafore, the University of Birmingham Gilbert & Sullivan Society proudly presents Patience on 6th and 7th June, 7pm, at Selly Oak Methodist Church.
Patience is a comic operetta about two poets vying for the affections of a simple country girl. Bunthorne, an aesthetic poet, is followed by twenty love-sick maidens, who hang on his every poetic word and long for no other man. They will stop at no lengths to win his affections for their own. This offends the Heavy Dragoons Regiment, to whom the love-sick maidens are technically engaged. To complicate matters further, Reginald wants to marry Patience, the local milkmaid; not to mention Grosvenor, the other aesthetic poet, who cannot seem to help but attract every female he comes across. With stunning music, memorable songs and gags aplenty, there is something for everyone in this show so come along!
