Returning for its third year, the University of Birmingham’s Arts and Science Festival took place over a week-long period, which commenced on 16th March. The Arts and Science Festival also coincided with the Flatpack Film Festival.Written by Farah Sheraz on 30th March 2015
Student dies at University of Birmingham
Redbrick is sad to report the death of a student at the University of Birmingham
Bryn Gough, who studied Political Science and was chairman of the University's debating society in 2009/10, died on 1 August and an investigation has been launched by the Birmingham City Coroner.
The Guild of Students released the following statement:
The Guild of Students is extremely saddened about the death of Bryn Gough. Bryn was heavily involved in the Guild through activities such as Guild Council and student groups. He made a significant contribution to the lives of students at the University of Birmingham and our thoughts are with Bryn’s family and friends.
Flowers and cards have begun to appear on campus in tribute. For students who knew Bryn the Guild has stated there are a number of support networks in place.
